STOP! (or my gun will shoot)

This painting was produced quickly -- with a lot of anger, disbelief, and sadness. With two horrible shooting tragedies in one week, gun violence was weighing heavy on my mind. As I listened to one of my favorite political podcasts late into the night, and with no easy answers, this is what bubbled up.

To Kill a Mockingjay

This painting was inspired by a recent news story about Gregory Peck's annotated To Kill a Mockingbird script. On the last page, he scribbled four words describing Atticus Finch:

Fairness
Courage
Stubbornness
Love

Sometimes a Sublimated Raven

Exposing your art or creativity to the world is no easy task. You're essentially walking skinless down an often dark and perilous road.
This is an ancient (simulated) war banner for those on Creative Expedition. It is a totem of survival and a harbinger of insight.
For those on similar paths, let this serve as strength and reminder:
It is a worthy battle; an essential struggle...

...And...

"It's going to be a very pretty war!"

SwingerBot™ vs. Ecclesiastical Dalek

The gaseous planet of Hedonism Four, best known for its petroleum jacuzzis and hydro-lithium steam baths, was once the prime vacation destination for ScrewdRovers®, SwingerBots™, and Heat-Seeking STuDulators℠. The decadence of H4's libidinous age ended when a ship full of Ecclesiastical Daleks landed on the planet.

Forget Your Personal Trajedy

On May 28, 1934, Ernest Hemingway wrote to F. Scott Fitzgerald with thoughts about Tender Is the Night:

"Forget your personal tragedy. We are all bitched from the start and you especially have to hurt like hell before you can write seriously. But when you get the damned hurt use it -- don't cheat with it..."

*This painting, featuring The Angel of Memory™, is a plastormian simulation built upon that stated ideology
